Here at Special Edition Chocolate, we take a lot of pride in our chocolates & truffles. Our small team craft each bar, model, truffle and figurine.
At the FOOD and DRINK EXPO in 2004, an INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION held at the NEC in Birmingham, we entered the Sugar and Confectionery category in the competition called IDEAS TO DINE FOR. We won!!! When the results were announced online we received calls from many countries "congratulating" us, asking whether we would email a photo of our winning item. They only wanted to copy it probably!! Our entry was called THE CHOCOLATE SOURCE. It was a life-size model, in dark chocolate, of a cocoa pod, filled with ginger truffles and chilli truffles. We chose those two flavours because ginger and chilli plants would be growing in the rain forests of Mexico along with the cacao trees.
We have won 3 GREAT TASTE awards for products. These are:
Our Chilli and Ginger bars, which won GOLD
Our "BAILEYS" Truffles, which won SILVER
And our Dark Cinnamon Bars, which won BRONZE
Great Taste is a European competition where a panel of experts blind taste products and judge them on taste, texture and appearance.
We are also one of Rick Stein's Food Heroes in his book. This was released in 2002 and filled with 100 recipes using the finest British produce. It's also filled with a directory of producers that he has met and recommend (THAT'S US)
Along with being a Select Lincolnshire member. Select Lincolnshire is a membership for all the food and drink producers, suppliers, wholesalers etc who provide high quality products from the rolling fields of our county. We are proud to work along side other Lincolnshire companies such as Lymn bank cheese & Ferry Ales Brewery
